It’ll be a while before Trevor Lawrence gets to complete a pass to Calvin Ridley in an NFL game, but it’s safe to say the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback is looking forward to it.
On Tuesday, after throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at a Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp game, Lawrence told Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union that his first throwing session with Ridley has him itching to get back to work.
“We have [thrown together] once and I’m super excited,” Lawrence said. “We’re just excited to have him. He’s gonna be another piece for this offense and our team and [he’s] just a good guy that we’re excited to bring into the locker room. It’s gonna be a lot of fun.”
Ridley was acquired by the Jaguars in an October 2022 trade with the Atlanta Falcons, but the receiver was unavailable due to a suspension. In March, Ridley was officially reinstated by the NFL.
In four seasons with the Falcons, Ridley caught 248 passes for 3,342 yards with 28 touchdowns.
