St Mirren will sign Trevor Carson from Dundee United this summer for a nominal fee.
The Northern Ireland international is poised to reunite with manager Stephen Robinson when the new season kicks off.
Robinson has already had the experienced keeper at Motherwell and then took him on-loan to Morecambe as the start of the 21/22 campaign.
The St Mirren boss has since moved north and will go for Carson again.
He is set to agree terms after he returns to Dundee United when his Morecambe loan comes to an end.
The Buddies have been looking for a keeper since current No. 1 Jak Alnwick knocked back a new deal.
Alnwick look set to join English Championship side Cardiff City, despite approaches from Aberdeen and Hibs.
Robinson has already been building for next season.
He has already agreed pre-contracts with Mark O’Hara from Motherwell and fellow midfielder Keanu Baccus of Western Sydney Wanderers.
