Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has praised one of his teammates for a standout World Cup performance as Graham Potter prepares for domestic action to return. The Blues have been out of action for over a month whilst the games take place in Qatar but there are just two matches left and tentative attention is being turned back to the Premier League.
There are no Chelsea players involved in the final which is on Sunday, but one player will finish in third alongside his country with representation in the third place play-off being played on Saturday. Potter's side are back in the league on December 27 and have picked up the pace for their return, but lost a friendly to Aston Villa, albeit with a weakened side.
Chalobah dropped out of the game late on having been selected as a starter in defence and gave fans a scare due to the ongoing injury crisis at the club. Speaking on SkySports, his attention was elsewhere though, praising Ziyech for his role in Morocco's historic run.

“He’s done really well, played a lot of games and showed his consistent level," Chalobah said.
Ziyech's future still appears to be away from Stamford Bridge despite his impressive tournament. The 29-year-old hasn't seen an upturn in minutes under Potter and suitors are picking up interest after seeing his role exploited well on the biggest stage. For the Blues though, there may be a temptation to offer him a lifeline.
Ziyech may not return to London before there is less than five days until action for his club though, and that makes him - and Mateo Kovacic who will line up for Croatia on Saturday - involvement uncertain and unlikely.
As part of a brilliantly organised and exciting team when going forward, Ziyech showed his off-the-ball skill as well as magic moments in possession for Walid Regragui. This has long been a frustration for those managing him at SW6. Thomas Tuchel moved him to an inside position which reduced his space and Potter has since tried the former Ajax man back on the wing, but confidence was low and results didn't change.
With a busy January expected, Ziyech could be one of those on the move.
