News of a potential Trent Alexander-Arnold transfer away from Liverpool has been the hot topic in recent months – and his latest Instagram post won’t have helped amid the club’s ongoing contract crisis.
And less than 24 hours after team-mate Mohamed Salah’s bombshell contract admission, Alexander-Arnold has posted an awkwardly-timed Instagram advert about ‘the switch’.
Trent Alexander Arnold’s Transfer Away From Liverpool Is On The Cards
Trent Alexander-Arnold‘s Liverpool future is up in the air with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
The Liverpool academy graduate has been linked with a move to Real Madrid as a result.
The 26-year-old, along with Salah and Virgil Van Dijk, will be allowed to leave for nothing next summer should Liverpool be unable to offer new deals.
It has seen Liverpool fans become anxious over the futures of three key football players at Anfield.
Alexander-Arnold won’t have helped in quelling fears with his latest post on Instagram either. In what is a rather awkwardly-time post, the right back shared an advert of himself and a Google Pixel smartphone.
However, it is the caption that got fans’ hearts racing. The caption read: “Trust me to make the switch… To Google Pixel.”
In a video promoting the phone, Alexander-Arnold is seen making a cross-field pass to a fan in the park. This reference was to the right-back’s brilliant ability of making long-range ‘switches’ across the pitch.
Will Trent Alexander-Arnold Make The Switch From Liverpool?
Should a Trent Alexander-Arnold transfer come to fruition, Real Madrid is his most likely destination.
The England star has been linked with joining close friend Jude Bellingham at the Bernabeu.
Reports suggest that Real could make a move for Alexander-Arnold in January and Los Blancos will get a closer look at the right-back on Wednesday.
Liverpool host Real Madrid in the Champions League and all eyes will be on Alexander-Arnold over his links with the opposition.
Liverpool’s Contract Crisis
Mohamed Salah is another Liverpool player set for the exit next summer. The Egyptian star made headlines on Monday after revealing he hasn’t been offered new terms to stay at the club.
Salah said: “We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club. I’m probably more out than in.
“You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.
“I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands.”
Spoke to Mohamed Salah after Liverpool's win at Southampton yesterday.
