The Trent Alexander-Arnold contract saga appears no closer to being resolved as Liverpool are reportedly shy of the defender’s demands.
According to The Sun, Alexander-Arnold has been offered a £70,000 increase on his current £180,000-per-week pay packet.
However, the England right-back is holding out for a staggering £350,000-per-week. Meaning the Merseysiders will need to stump up another £100,000 to keep him at Anfield.
If chiefs are happy to offer such terms, Alexander will be on par with Mo Salah. The Egyptian King is also toying with the idea about staying with the Reds.
Salah, Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk are all out of contract in the summer. From January, the trio are able to start talking to other clubs.
Real Madrid have been long-term admirers of Alexander-Arnold and will likely offer the star whatever he wants to tempt him to the Bernabeu.
With that said, the 26-year-old has reportedly told friends he is happy to stay with the Premier League leaders. Especially that he is now settled into his Cheshire mansion.
🚨 Liverpool are £100,000-a-week short on persuading Trent Alexander-Arnold to sign a new five-year deal.
They have offered a £70,000 pay-rise on his current £180,000-a-week wages. But the full-back is holding out for £350,000-a-week.

Trent Alexander-Arnold Contract Demands
It remains to be seen whether the Trent Alexander-Arnold contract demands will be met. However, the defender himself has previously revealed negotiations won’t be made public.
“I have been at the club 20 years now. I have signed four or five contract extensions and none of those have been played out in public. This one won’t be either,” explained Alexander-Arnold.
The Liverpool star clearly values his privacy but the reports of his demands do appear to have been leaked to the public. Nonetheless, the rest of the negotiations will likely be kept confidential and in-house.
Alexander-Arnold has been with the club since the age of six and has made 329 appearances for the clubs in all competitions. He has scored 19 times and provided 84 assists.
In terms of trophies, the 26-year-old has won the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup and the League Cup (2).
On Wednesday, TAA could feature in the EFL Cup quarter-final against Southampton. The best football betting sites in the UK price the Reds at 5/12 to progress.
