Travis Scott gave his first festival performance since last year’s fatal Astroworld tragedy by making a surprise appearance over the weekend at the Rolling Loud event in Miami.
Scott performed multiple songs, including “Hold That Heat,” “Goosebumps” and “Antidote,” during fellow rapper Future’s set on Saturday, according to Billboard.
The performance came nearly nine months after 10 people died following a crowd surge during Scott’s headlining set at his Astroworld Festival at NRG Park in Houston on Nov. 5.
Scott had performed several small gigs in the months since. He was asked to fill in as a headliner at Rolling Loud after Kanye West dropped out, but Kid Cudi took that spot when Scott couldn’t make it work, Billboard reports.
The Houston-born Scott, whose real name is Jacques Webster, has said he wasn’t aware that the Astroworld crowd was surging as he continued his performance there last fall.
“You can only help what you can see, and then whatever you’re told,” Scott told radio host Charlamagne tha God last December. “Whenever somebody tells you to stop, you just stop.”
Scott, 31, offered to cover funeral costs of the victims, but was rejected by multiple families. He also vowed to refund the 50,000 people who attended the festival.
The rapper, who has two kids with reality star Kylie Jenner, has a pair of concerts scheduled next month at the O2 arena in London.
Scott is also set to headline the Primevera Sound festival concerts in Chile, Argentina and Brazil in November.
