Travis Kelce was not thrilled that brother Jason made a wrong prediction about his injury status

When Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce suffered a hyperextended knee in practice ahead of Kansas City’s Week 1 opener against the Lions, there was plenty of uncertainty about Kelce’s status for that game.

And of course, Travis’ own brother, Jason, didn’t help the cause either.

As we know now, Travis was inactive for the game with a bone bruise, and the Chiefs’ receivers struggled throughout the 21-20 loss. This came after Jason told Philadelphia’s WIP Morning Show that he expected Travis to be healthy enough to play in the game as long as the swelling was managed. He likened the injury to the time Jason hyperextended his knee trying to kick fire wood in half.

In the brothers’ podcast, New Heights, Travis had a chance to speak about missing that game, and he said that he felt like a jerk to be on the sidelines in street clothes … especially after his own brother told the media that he’d be ready for the game.

Oh yeah, he went there. Jason had to know that was coming, and the Chiefs obviously didn’t love that an Eagles player was giving out injury updates to reporters.

But I love how Jason handled the playful callout from his brother. “Was I talking out loud?”

Live and learn, I guess. That’s probably the last injury update about Travis that we’ll hear from Jason this season.
