Travis Kelce sets record for most receptions in Chiefs history

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is quickly putting together one of the most impressive résumés of any active NFL player.

No stranger to making history, Kelce has proven to be one of the most productive tight ends in the league’s history, setting several receiving records year after year, and he has now set another.

During Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the All-Pro pass catcher snagged a four-yard screen pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes, which lifted Kelce over legendary tight end Tony Gonzalez to set the record for the most receptions in Chiefs’ history.

Take a look at the historic connection, which was posted by the Chiefs’ official Twitter account:

The Chiefs Communications Twitter account acknowledged Kelce’s accomplishment of 917 career catches with Kansas City, which is unlikely to be broken anytime soon.

With another record set by the star tight end, Kelce could be well on his way to the halls of Canton, OH.
