Travis Kelce’s speeches about no one believing in the Chiefs proves he’s perfect for hosting ‘SNL’

This is the online version of our daily newsletter, The Morning WinSubscribe to get irreverent and incisive sports stories, delivered to your mailbox every morning. Here’s Charles Curtis.

Hey, Travis Kelce is going to host Saturday Night Live! I love it!

Mark your calendars for March 4 — he’ll join legends like Peyton Manning, Derek Jeter, Charles Barkley and Wayne Gretzky as athletes to host the sketch comedy show.

And I think he’ll be perfect for it. Because the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has spent weeks telling the world that NO ONE BELIEVED IN HIS TEAM.

Ha ha ha!

Look, I get trying to hype up your team with that narrative. It worked, too! But it was pretty hilarious. As our Mary Clarke wrote earlier this week, it makes no sense “because Patrick Mahomes exists.”

But there he was pulling off his best Kirby Smart, saying no one picked the Chiefs to win it all.

He was right to get back at the Cincinnati Bengals and their “BURROWHEAD” talk. But even at the Super Bowl parade, he couldn’t stop.

In all seriousness, we know he’s going to be great at this. Can’t wait to see his monologue.

Quick hits: C’mon, Tiger … NBA power rankings … XFL is back again … and more.

Tiger Woods was seen handing a tampon to Justin Thomas at the Genesis Invitational, a childish and sexist prank.

An incredible feature on Rajah Caruth, the 20-year-old HBCU student who went from virtual racing to NASCAR.

— The NBA All-Star break is here, so it’s time for some power rankings from Mike Sykes.

All the important info about the XFL, which is back this weekend for its latest version.
