Apparently, clicks and attention aren’t the only things Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s blooming relationship generated over an eventful weekend headlined by the pop superstar’s appearance at Sunday’s Bears-Chiefs game.
As if either celebrity could have gotten any more popular, a Monday report from TMZ on the Chiefs tight end’s jersey sales illustrated how infatuated the public has already become with Kelce and Swift’s love story. And considering the final figure, it seems pretty safe to say that the sea of buzz is real, in case there was any doubt.
“Yesterday, Travis Kelce was one of the top 5 selling NFL players and saw a nearly 400% spike in sales throughout the Fanatics network of sites, including NFLShop.com,” a Fanatics spokesperson told TMZ.
Already labeled as a future Hall of Famer, Kelce’s popularity has hardly ever come into question throughout his NFL career. But with all due respect to the two-time Super Bowl champion, it appears the Swifties, given current events, could be a big reason behind the dramatic increase in his jersey’s sales.
If the reaction to Week 3 is any indication, the “T. Swift” effect, while Kelce himself may deny it, could end up catapulting the tight end into heights of superstardom even he has not yet imagined.
