Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce continued to live his best offseason, hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time this weekend. When all eyes were on him during the monologue, Kelce poked fun at himself, his brother Jason and Patrick Mahomes.
Kelce opened the show by performing an impression of Mahomes saying “more, more, more,” just like he does to pump up the Chiefs on the sideline. Additionally, Jason and parents Donna and Ed Kelce were in attendance as Kelce talked about how “awkward” it was to beat his brother in Super Bowl LVII.
Jason, the more reserved Kelce brother, even got some screen time alone.
For much of the show, Kelce avoided the topic of football. However, several of the sketches centered around the 6’5”, 250-pound Kelce’s size. One skit, which unfortunately was cut due to time constraints, featured Travis and Jason Kelce and Chiefs center Creed Humphrey in a spoof on the NFL’s charitable efforts.
Kelce became the latest athlete to host Saturday Night Live, following up on JJ Watt’s gig from 2020. Not many athletes have the ability to transition from the field to the television screen, but Kelce, who is already one of the most entertaining players in the league, gave it his best effort.
