Travis Kelce Makes Up for First Pitch Fail As Royals Honor Chiefs

With his two Super Bowl titles and seven career All-Pro selections, it’s rare when Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce encounters failure in an athletic setting. So, it should come as no surprise that Monday night saw the 33-year-old take advantage of a shot at redemption following a past miscue on a baseball diamond.

Back in April, Kelce was invited to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at a Guardians game in Cleveland and, well, it did not go well. So, when the Royals invited Kelce and some of his Chiefs teammates to Monday’s game against the Reds to honor the defending Super Bowl champs, it was only fitting that Kelce was the one to do the honors of toeing the rubber again. Thankfully, his second go-round went much better than his first attempt.

Perhaps Kelce simply needed his Kansas City teammates on hand for support, as several members of the Chiefs stood behind the mound to cheer him on. The Royals even offered some assistance with a pair of enormous signs on either side of home plate to direct Kelce on where to aim the ball.

Kelce had a similarly memorable appearance when the Chiefs visited the White House earlier this month. Wherever he and the team show up next, it’s safe to say the standout tight end is having plenty of fun enjoying the latest post-Super Bowl victory lap.
