Travis Hunter Ruled Out of Colorado State-Colorado Game, Taken to Hospital for Evaluation

In the midst of a fierce rivalry battle with Colorado State, No. 18 Colorado lost one of college football's most electrifying players Saturday night.

Buffaloes wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter was ruled out for the remainder of the contest and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, Colorado announced during the third quarter.

With 4:59 left in the first quarter and the Rams leading 14-7, Hunter took a vicious hit to his midsection from Colorado State defensive back Henry Blackburn while attempting to catch a deep pass from quarterback Shedeur Sanders. The play drew two flags—one for pass interference and a second for unnecessary roughness on Blackburn.

Hunter returned to the game briefly before being ruled out in the third. He finished the night with two catches for 21 yards and a lost fumble.

In the Buffaloes' first two games against TCU and Nebraska, Hunter announced himself as one of the nation's most dynamic players, recording 192 receiving yards on 14 catches along with an interception on defense.
