Travis frontman Fran Healy was brutally attacked while leaving his studio in America by a thug trying to steal his car.
The Glaswegian singer claims he was almost carjacked when leaving the parking facility of his working studio in Los Angeles, as the attacker tried to pull him out of the vehicle.
The popstar took to social media to tell fans about the incident, writing on Twitter: "Almost got carjacked inside the parking facility of my studio. Man! That was close. Huge guy tried to pull me out my car window. Managed to get away. DTLA is mental.

"As the adrenaline dissipates, my right hand is hurting like I punched a wall. I hooked the guy really hard in the face a few times while he was all in my window. He didn’t flinch. Didn’t even register it. I was like “Aww balls”."
The singer also saw the funny side of the incident, as he added to his thread of tweets: "Possible headline tomorrow “Fran Theft Auto”?"
Fans flocked to his replies to send their warm wishes to the 49-year-old after the scary attack. One Twitter user wrote: "OMG! I'm so glad you're ok! The guy must have been cracked out to not feel it. I always hear that they usually back off if you fight back because it isn't worth it to them. Guess not. Did you notify police? Is there security in that building? Oh, Fran!"
Another said: "He was there, chasing cars..... Ahhh bugger wrong band! Hope you're alright mate. LA can be a weird place at the best of times."
And a third wrote: "That must have been so scary. hope you are ok?"
More comments read: "Geezus, I'm sorry Fran. You don't need anymore bad headlines! Stay safe man."
And others commented: "Damn. Glad you’re safe. I’m worried about the future of LA & NYC. Such an increase in random, and usually violent crime."
Finally, one concluded: "That’s horrible. Glad you are ok."
Travis will be back in Scotland to perform at the Summer Sessions in Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens on Sunday, August 14. Tickets are available via this link here.
