Travelodge urges Ukrainians to apply for new Bristol hotel jobs

Ukrainian citizens are being encouraged to apply to new roles at Travelodge branches in Bristol amid an employment boost ahead of summer.

The UK's second largest hotel chain - falling short only to Premier Inn - is looking to fill 25 positions immediately in the Bristol area in time for the summer season. The hotelier has said it welcomes applications from all candidates, including Ukrainian refugees "who need a fresh start and have a right to work in the UK", according to a statement.

Travelodge's 25 permanent positions are part of the company’s nationwide summer recruitment programme to fill 700 jobs in total across its UK estate and head office. The roles, catering to a range of levels of experience and departments, include Hotel Manager, Assistant Hotel Manager, Bar Café Team Member, Reception Team Member, Housekeeping Supervisor and Housekeeping Team Member - more details on some of these roles are listed below.

Hannah Thomson, Travelodge Chief People Officer, said: “Hospitality is one of the world’s fastest growing industries and there has never been a better time than now to join a sector that can open a door to endless opportunities.

"We are gearing up for a busy 2022 summer season in Bristol, so if you have passion, determination and a real desire to look after people then we will help you learn the rest, as joining Travelodge opens the door to training, coaching and career progression. Our in-house management development programme has helped hundreds of entry level colleagues into a management job."

Travelodge has also said it is committed to supporting Bristol’s parents by offering jobs close to home, flexible working hours around the school run, a range of benefits and a path into management. This is so people are able to balance employment alongside family and other life commitments.

Applicants from Ukraine need to have authorised paperwork that they have a right to work in the UK in order for their applications to be processed for employment, the hotelier added. Travelogue offers plenty of employee benefits including 50 per cent off UK Travelodge hotel rooms and food and non-alcoholic drinks in the Bar Café, room discounts for family and friends, a work anniversary complimentary booking voucher, a pension scheme with employer contributions and discounts at a range of retailers.
