A Travelodge was completely evacuated and fire fighters called after reports of a "smell of smoke".
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called to the hotel on the Strand at 8.39pm on Friday, April 7. Once four fire engines and an aerial appliance arrived at the scene just five minutes later they immediately started checking the building.
The building was evacuated and firefighters checked all 10 floors of the building, including the roof space. Emergency services confirmed they found "no immediate signs of fire or smoke" inside.

Crowds of people were stood in the street while emergency services checked over the building. Some men and women were seen wearing pyjamas and slippers with big coats over the top.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: "Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called to a hotel on the Strand in Liverpool City Centre tonight, following reports of a smell of smoke. Crews were alerted at 8.39pm and on scene at 8.44pm. Four fire engines and the aerial appliance attended.
"On arrival, crews carried out a 360 check of the 10-storey building and found no immediate signs of fire or smoke. A full evacuation of the building took place.
"MFRS crews then checked all 10 floors, including rooms and roof spaces. The incident was handed over to hotel management and MFRS crews left the scene at 10.14pm."
