Another group of travellers have pitched up near the Victoria Embankment - and it's the third encampment there in the space of just three months. At least four caravans, a car and a number of people have arrived at The Meadows Recreation Ground, behind the War Memorial, at the beauty spot on the banks of the River Trent.
A photo of the latest encampment was sent to Nottinghamshire Live on Wednesday (August 10). It is thought to be the third traveller encampment on the playing fields since May. Back on May 20, community support officers and bailiffs were spotted on the playing fields and the traveller group there at the time subsequently moved on.
Some of the Irish travellers on the playing fields had earlier spoken about their lives, saying they had "nothing to be ashamed of". Then another traveller encampment pitched up on the playing fields the following month.
Nottinghamshire Live has contacted Nottingham City Council for more information regarding the latest encampment.
