Travel delays are likely in Leeds today (Tues) after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for the city.
Dense fog fell on Leeds yesterday (Mon) and caused travel chaos for holidaymakers at Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA). More delays are expected on Tuesday after the Met Office issued a yellow fog warning.
The warning, which was in place until 11am, covered other parts of Yorkshire such as Sheffield, Doncaster, York, Ripon and Scarborough.

The Met Office said: "Slower journey times with delays to bus and train services possible. There is a chance of delays or cancellations to flights." A spokesperson added: "Areas of fog, dense in places, have developed and will be stubborn to clear through much of this morning. While some fog is likely to persist all day, many places will see this lifting into low cloud or clear by this afternoon."
There have been long delays at LBA today. The 6.05am flight to Amsterdam was cancelled while the 6am flight to Vilnius, Lithuania, did not depart until 8.46am. It is not clear if the delays are solely related to heavy fog in the area.
The yellow weather warning was removed at 11am, but flog remains heavy in and around the city this afternoon.
