Travel warning as Met Office issues yellow weather warning for strong winds

  • Forecasters are warning of unseasonably strong winds across the south of England, potentially causing disruption.
  • Gusts of up to 55mph are expected to move eastwards from Cornwall through to Sussex on Saturday. The Royal Cornwall Show 2026 cancelled day three due to the weather.
  • The wet and windy conditions are forecast to last until Saturday evening.
  • The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind, covering the south west and parts of the south east.
  • The strong winds could lead to power outages and travel disruption in the affected regions.
