Scots holidaymakers are facing travel chaos after Aberdeen Airport were forced to 'temporarily suspend operations' suddenly today.
Airport staff confirmed flights had been cancelled due to unscheduled maintenance work at the airport on Monday morning.
Staff are currently working to ensure that the work is completed as fast as possible to allow for minimum disruption.
Passengers who are already had the airport are being provided with refreshment vouchers.
They have been advised to contact their airline for specific flight information.
A spokesperson for Aberdeen Airport said: “We can confirm we are currently carrying out some unscheduled maintenance work and have had to temporarily suspend operations.
“We aim to have this completed as quickly as possible with minimum disruption; however, we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
“Passengers are being provided with refreshment vouchers and we will provide a further update as soon as the work is complete.
“Passengers are advised to contact their airline for specific flight information."
