Travel chaos as number of ScotRail services subject to cancellation and delay today

A NUMBER of ScotRail services to and from Glasgow are subject to cancellation or delay today.

The national rail service announced on Twitter/X that due to a fault with the signalling system at Linlithgow and Larbert, Glasgow services may be delayed or all together cancelled.

In two separate posts, ScotRail wrote: "Due to a fault with the signalling system at Linlithgow trains have to run at reduced speed on the line towards Edinburgh. Train services between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh via Falkirk High will be cancelled or delayed.

"Due to a fault with the signalling system at Larbert trains have to run at reduced speed on the line towards Glasgow. Disruption is expected until the end of the day."

They added that train services between Glasgow Queen Street and the likes of Aberdeen, Alloa, Dundee, Inverness and Perth may be delayed.

It is currently unknown when services will operate normally again.

However, updates can be found on ScotRail's social media accounts.
