In a statement released alongside the notice, a CCPC spokesperson said: “The product presents a risk of electric shock”.
This is because the socket shutters can be opened without a plug being inserted, which makes live parts accessible.
The product type/number of the model is MMTA01/JL153 and the batch number is BT1887 with the barcode, 5391529360023.
The CCPC added a warning that they are aware of approximately 6,040 affected products in the Republic of Ireland which have been purchased from various retailers.
What to do:
If customers find they are in the possession of or have been using this product, they should stop using it immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
