A horrified mum received a sympathy card from the family GP saying her daughter had died after a visit to A&E - when she was still very much alive.

Ella, 18, had been suffering from "unbearable" stomach pain and nausea when she was taken to Royal Liverpool Hospital's emergency department on Thursday, March 3.

After undergoing multiple tests, doctors sent her home but said to return to hospital if the pain got worse, the Liverpool Echo reports.
