PUNE: Shreyasi Singh believes in probability and hence, the trap shooter was not surprised when she got a mail from the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) about her getting a quota place for the Paris Games.
Shreyasi, 32, had not won a quota place herself, but she got the quota swapped from pistol shooter Palak, who couldn’t make it to the Paris squad. Palak had won a quota but lost her place to Manu Bhaker, who finished on top in both air pistol and sports pistol. Since Manu can shoot in two events on one quota, one of the quota places was swapped for a woman trap shooter, leading to Shreyasi’s inclusion in the team.
