Translink has confirmed it is "exploring the possibility" of moving some of its 212 Derry to Belfast express bus journeys to take advantage of the new A6 road.
This comes after an SDLP MLA said the bus still takes around two hours despite the opening of the upgraded new road between Derry and Dungiven.
Foyle MLA Mark H Durkan has also called for more buses between Northern Ireland's first and second cities.
