Translink has clarified its policy on the wearing of face masks on public transport across Northern Ireland.
The company said it will be encouraging passengers to wear a face covering, if they can, in stations and on-board buses and trains.
It comes after all remaining Covid restrictions were removed in Northern Ireland on Tuesday and replaced with guidance.
On Monday, Health Minister Robin Swann announced the legal requirements of Covid passports in all settings and the wearing of face masks were scrapped.
Being removed in law is: 'Requirement to wear a face covering in enclosed public areas of premises; restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs; public transport; driving instruction; close contact services.'
The Department of Health said the importance of wearing face coverings in health and social care settings, on public transport and in enclosed indoor settings will continue to be strongly emphasised.
A Translink spokesperson told Belfast Live : “We continue to follow public health guidance regarding the wearing of face coverings.
“To help keep everyone safe and in line with the latest guidance, we are encouraging our passengers to wear a face covering, if they can, in stations and on-board buses and trains.
“This is in keeping with other indoor settings”.
