Italian football transfer intermediary Fabrizio Ferrari says that AC Milan's attempt to buy Allan Saint-Maximin during the January transfer window fell flat.
The winger, who stated he was "proud" to still be at Newcastle United after the window slammed shut, is now looking for a run in the team in the second half of the season. It is likely he will be one of the first names on the team sheet in the away trip to AFC Bournemouth this weekend.
Ferrari, an intermediary of FK Sports Management, claims he held discussions with AC Milan during the winter trading period. He told DAZN: "We held talks (with Milan), but there was never a real chance to sell the player.

"I think the club like the player, but we didn’t go forward because Milan had other priorities."
Eddie Howe has previously stated that Saint-Maximin would stay at Newcastle at least for the second half of the season. And the player stated that the only situation he would not accept at St James' Park was being benched consecutively for two matches after successive defeats.
Saint-Maximin told reporters after the 1-1 draw with West Ham: "For sure, if we lose two games and I stay on the bench I will never accept that situation.
"When the team does well though and when you love the players you can't be a nice guy when you play, then not very nice when you don't."
