There were delays to Metrolink services in Greater Manchester on Tuesday night following a 'medical emergency'. The incident was reported at Manchester Victoria station - with numerous services impacted.
Emergency services were understood to be on the scene at the station, but no further details about the incident have been provided.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) confirmed in a tweet that there was a 'backlog of trams waiting to pass through' Manchester Victoria following the incident at around 6.30pm on Tuesday (January 31).
TfGM posted: "There has been a medical emergency at Victoria which has caused a backlog of trams waiting to pass through. Currently waiting for more information regarding this from control. We are hoping that we can be back on the move ASAP."
There were delays on the Altrincham, Bury, East Didsbury and Rochdale lines. The latest updates confirmed that services travelling in both directions, through Manchester Victoria had been impacted, as TfGM apologised for the inconvenience caused. All lines had resumed to a good service by 8pm.
Transport for Greater Manchester have been approached for further details on the incident.
