Train strikes to disrupt ScotRail services in New Year - routes not affected

Train passengers should brace for significant disruption in the first week of 2023 as rail workers will take strike again next week, impacting ScotRail services.

The RMT has confirmed that Network Rail members will walk out on January 3, 4, 6 and 7, amid unresolved disputes over pay, jobs and conditions. Commuters are being urged to check routes ahead of time to make sure their trains are still running.

While ScotRail staff are not involved in the industrial action, it will significantly impact services, as many striking Network Rail workers hold safety critical roles. The operator has confirmed that the majority of their routes won't be running within the strike period.
