A train had to be stopped close to Nottingham station after it hit an electric scooter which was left on the tracks. The incident occurred near the Trowell junction just before 9pm on Saturday, April 9.
A passenger on the train, which was running from Manchester to Nottingham, claimed the ordeal took out two of the train's engines. The East Midlands Railway train, which was running from Liverpool to Norwich, was taken out of service to be repaired - its passengers were provided with taxis to complete the rest of their journey.
The passenger told Nottinghamshire Live: "Our train to Nottingham just hit two of those electric scooters, maybe 10 minutes from Nottingham station. They took out two of the train's engines. Not exactly something you'd expect to see on train tracks, especially as it was on a pretty steep bank."
