TRANSPORT Secretary Stephen Flynn has become embroiled in a row with Scottish train drivers after he refused to prevent a company involved with Israel’s illegal settlement of Palestinian land from bidding for public contracts.
Train drivers union Aslef accused Flynn of deploying “a lump of essentially meaningless words” to defend allowing the Spanish firm CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles) to bid for contracts to build more than 100 new trains for ScotRail.
