Here's some more good news. "Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter" was released last year, and the sequel is just around the corner.

'Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter'
"Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter" continues the story of Estelle Bright after the events of "Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter." After Joshua disappears and leaves behind only his harmonica, Estelle sets out across the Kingdom of Liberl to find him and uncover the truth behind his past. The journey also brings her into conflict with Ouroboros, the secret society that threatens the kingdom.
As Estelle searches for Joshua, she and her allies become caught in a larger conspiracy surrounding Liberl. The story explores Joshua's origins while bringing Estelle's journey as a bracer into a new chapter. "Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter" is developed by Nihon Falcom, with GungHo Online Entertainment America handling publishing in North America and Europe.
It is recommended that players play "1st Chapter" first before proceeding to "2nd Chapter."
Release Date and Platforms
"Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter" will be released on September 17, 2026, for the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
It should be noted that the Switch 2 Edition can also be played on the original Nintendo Switch, although the resolution and frame rate will use the Switch version's specifications.

Gameplay
"Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter" combines real-time Quick Battles with traditional Command Battles. Quick Battles let characters attack and dodge in real time, while Command Battles let players plan each turn around positioning and enemy actions. According to Nihon Falcom, players can switch between both systems seamlessly during gameplay.
The remake also adds new Crafts, S-Crafts, and Brave Rush attacks that expand combat options. Players can customize characters through the Tactical Orbment system by equipping Quartz to improve abilities and unlock Arts. The game also features side activities such as fishing, poker, and cooking with companions.
Editions and Pricing
"Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter" has a Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition. The Digital Deluxe Edition costs $79.99 and includes the base game and Season Pass. It should be noted that the Season Pass can also be purchased separately for $24.99. The Standard Edition, on the other hand, is priced at $59.99 in the U.S. digital storefronts.
Physical collectors can also choose the Golden Wings Edition or SteelBook Edition. The Golden Wings Edition includes the game, SteelBook, artbook, mini soundtrack CD, Glorious x Arseille model diorama, collector's box, and Season Pass, while the SteelBook Edition includes the game, SteelBook, and protective slipcover.
