'Trailblazer' Palma challenges fellow Hondurans to win move to Celtic

Luis Palma has challenged his Honduran countryman to show they have what it takes to win a move to Celtic like him.

The winger helped the Hoops win a league and Scottish Cup double, although his progress was hindered by injury.

He will play for his country this week in World Cup qualifiers against Cuba at home and Bermuda away.

And Palma would love to see his international colleagues attract the attention of the Scottish champions too...just as he did.

He said: "If it was up to me, there would be a lot of Hondurans at Celtic.

"But to do that, a player has to reach a really high level.

"I hope I am a trailblazer in that respect.

"There is no closed door for a move to Celtic or other clubs in Europe.

"And I would love to see many Hondurans play in European football.

"I think I improved a lot this season and I matured personally as a person too.

"I am fit again, but I must admit the injury I had set me back a bit.

"Now I hope I can show what I can do again with the national team."
