An 18-year-old student tragically lost his life after being shot multiple times by another student outside Bowie High School in Texas. The incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday near a portable building on the school premises. The school was placed on lockdown as a safety measure just before the end of the school day.
Upon arrival at the scene, School Resource Officers discovered the 18-year-old male student lying unresponsive with gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, the student succumbed to his injuries. The suspected shooter, a 17-year-old student, attempted to flee the school but was apprehended by the police near the campus. He is set to face murder charges once he is processed at the Arlington City Jail.
Families of the students were directed to reunite with their children at a district facility located several miles away from the school following the tragic incident.
