A woman who died after a horror crash on a busy Lanarkshire road last week has been named Shamim Rashid.
The 66-year-old from Bellshill was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after the three-vehicle collision on Tuesday, August 30.
It happened on the A725 Bellshill Bypass. And a male passenger, aged 70, was also taken to hospital at the time in a "critical" condition.
Emergency services raced to the scene and the road was shut off for around nine hours while cops probed the incident.
Road Policing Officers are still appealing for information following the tragedy.
Sergeant Gemma Blackadder told Lanarkshire Live : “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Shamim.
“Our enquiries into the crash are ongoing and anyone with information or dashcam footage should contact officers on 101 quoting incident 2323 of 30 August, 2022.”
Last week the police sergeant stressed the area where the crash took place was very busy at the time and urged anybody nearby that may have witnessed what happened to get in touch to assists cops.
