The death of an Edinburgh man in a Spanish villa is said to have been caused due to a 'breakdown of a refrigerator' after he died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Emergency services were called to the rural property in Cala Masquida, Majorca, on Saturday, May 6, where they found Jaime Carsi, 40, and his 39-year-old wife Mary Somerville unresponsive next to him
Jaime was tragically pronounced dead while Mary still remains in intensive care at a local hospital, reports STV News.

A report from Ultima Hora said an autopsy found that Jaime had died from carbon monoxide poisoning with the Guardia Civil saying that the leak was caused by "the breakdown of a refrigerator."
Tributes from friends of Edinburgh investment firm analyst Jaime have poured in since the tragedy as Patti Montella, a friend of the couple, described Jaime as a “magnificent soul” in an emotional social media post.
A spokesperson said: "Guardia Civil is in charge of this investigation. It seems that it was an accident due to the breakdown of a refrigerator."
Ms Somerville remains in a 'serious condition' in the Manacor Hospital as a spokesperson added: "I confirm that Mary Somerville, 39, is still in serious condition in the ICU of the Manacor Hospital."
The couple were reportedly on their second honeymoon in Majorca having celebrated a second wedding ceremony in Edinburgh with family and friends only 15 days before.
A friend of the couple, Iain Stewart, described them as a “match made in heaven”, and said that everybody is “praying that Mary pulls through”.
A UK Foreign Office spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British national who was hospitalised in Mallorca. We are in contact with the local authorities.”
