A 23-year-old carer sent a number of her family and friends a Snapchat video of her dancing in the early hours while on a night out with her work colleagues 20 minutes before her death.
Kathryn Davenport, known to friends and family as Katie, was on a night out with her friend when she was involved in an "altercation" at Hey Amigos nightclub in Southport in the early hours of Sunday, September 4. During an inquest into her death at Bootle Town Hall today (Wednesday, March 8), it was heard Nathan Loughman, a door supervisor at the nightclub at the time, removed Katie by placing her and her friend on the fire escape in an attempt to diffuse the situation.
As he ensured no others went out onto the fire escape, he turned round to find Katie jumping off the fire escape and landing on the concrete below. Mr Loughman then ran through to the front of the club, which was estimated to have around 200-300 people in at the time, where he notified other members of staff who made their way to the back of the club.

Katie was taken to Aintree Hospital before then being transferred to The Walton Centre where she was placed on life support following brain surgery. The carer, described by her sister Lianne as "the most gorgeous person who everyone loved", died in hospital on Saturday, September 17, after failing to recover from traumatic brain injuries.
During the inquest, Katie was described as a young lady with her whole life ahead of her, but "catastrophic events took over". A post-mortem stated Katie underwent brain surgery after suffering facial and skull fractures before her family then agreed to introduce palliative care.
In a statement read out in the inquest written on behalf of Katie's family, it said how the family couldn't even begin to explain the pain and heartbreak they had suffered after her death. It was also revealed Katie had struggled with her mental health, seeking help for depression and anxiety.
Her family also told of how they received a video of Katie dancing, with her being "confident, outgoing and loving life". The 23-year-old had also not long passed her driving test, bought a car, started a second job and was saving up to buy a house with her boyfriend Niall.
The statement, written by her sister Lianne, said: "I, along with other family members, received a Snapchat from Katie 20 minutes before the accident, she was happy, dancing and laughing on the dance floor of Hey Amigos showing no signs of distress or upset."
At the inquest, senior coroner Julie Goulding ruled a narrative verdict and said: "Kathryn had been on a night out on the 4th of September in a local nightclub. She seemed happy and had a few drinks. Kate was involved in an altercation and was asked to leave the venue."
She continued: "Kate appeared to jump off the balcony which was 15 feet above the ground where she sustained traumatic injuries."
Concluding, Ms Goulding said: "There is insufficient evidence she wanted to take her own life."
