Two German boys, aged 9 and 12, tragically lost their lives after being buried in the sand when a dune collapsed in northwestern Denmark. The boys, who were on holiday with their family from Munich, were digging a hole on the beach when the incident occurred.
Local authorities reported that the boys were buried for 40 minutes before being rescued by firefighters, police, and members of the community. Following their rescue, they were airlifted to the university hospital in Aarhus, where they were in critical condition. Despite efforts to save them, the boys succumbed to their injuries and passed away late Tuesday.
The Central and West Jutland Police have classified the incident as a tragic accident and have refrained from providing further details at this time.
