Four people have been killed and multiple people injured during a shooting at a possible birthday party on Saturday night (April 15) police have now confirmed.
American news channels reported the shooting occurred at a dance studio in Dadeville, Alabama. They showed images of crime scene tape around the Mahogany Masterpiece Dance Studio and neighbouring buildings and a heavy police presence.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the shooting happened at about 10.30pm. There was no initial confirmation about what led to the shooting and it was not immediately known if a suspect was in custody.

A statement from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) reportedly said: "Currently, there have been four confirmed fatalities and multiple injuries.
"At approximately 11.45pm on Saturday, April 15, Special Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) launched a death investigation at the request of the Dadeville Police Chief.
"The investigation is as a result of a shooting which occurred at approximately 10.34pm, near the 200 Block of Broadnax Street in Dadeville, located in Tallapoosa County."
In a statement on social media, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey said: “This morning, I grieve with the people of Dadeville and my fellow Alabamians. Violent crime has NO place in our state, and we are staying closely updated by law enforcement as details emerge,” Alabama Governor Kay Ivey said in a statement posted on social media."
Dadeville is about 57 miles (92 kilometres) northeast of Montgomery, Alabama.
