A British man has sadly passed away on the Costa Blanca coastline.
Reports say that a 74-year-old man lost consciousness while he was in the water on a beach near Moraira Castle, called La Ampolla Beach.
Lifeguards are then said to have recovered his body and brought him back to the sand in a bid to revive him, before paramedics reached the incident and continued to deliver CPR. However, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, despite all the best efforts from the lifeguards and emergency services.

The Mirror reports that the drama on the family-friendly beach, Moraira’s main beach just over a 30-minute drive north of Benidorm, happened around 2pm on Friday, with details of the tragedy only just emerging. It is currently unknown as to whether the man was on holiday when this happened, or if he lived in the area.
A routine investigation is under way, and the results of a post-mortem, thought to have been carried out over the course of the weekend, have not been made public. This news follows a similar occurrence in October last year, when a 40-year-old Brit died while swimming on the Spanish coastline.
Fisherman spotted the man floating in the water before bringing him to the shore, local reports say. Paramedics as well as police were called to the scene and rushed to his aid to provide CPR - but sadly they were unable to save him, and he too was pronounced dead at the scene.
