West Lothian police have confirmed that a body has been found in search for a young man from Bathgate who was reported missing on Tuesday December 27.
Officers say that the made the discovery in the woodland area of the West Lothian town at around 9am this morning - Wednesday 28.
Friends and family of the young man had been appealing on social media for help in tracing 20-year-old Jamie Aitchison who went missing on Tuesday after he was last seen at 6:00pm leaving a friend’s house close to the Regal in Bathgate.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 9am on Wednesday, December 28, police were called to a wooded area near to Torphichen Road, Bathgate. Officers attended and a 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
