Tragedy as body found in search for missing Edinburgh man Douglas Bramley

Police conducting searches for missing man Douglas Bramley say a body has been found near Arthur's Seat.

The 33-year-old was reported missing earlier this week after he was last spotted in Edinburgh on Sunday night. Officers tasked with tracking down the missing man had expressed "growing concern" over his disappearance.

Tragically, police say a body was found in a wooded area near Dunsapie Loch at the foot of Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh. While the body has not been formally identified, cops say Douglas' family has been told and are being supported.

There are no suspicious circumstances, according to a Police Scotland spokesperson.

The force spokesperson said: "Around 10.45am on Tuesday 12 July, 2022, the body of a man was located within a wooded area near Dunsapie Loch, Edinburgh. A formal identification has still to take place, however, the family of 33-year-old Douglas Bramley, who was reported missing from Edinburgh on Sunday, 10 July, 2022, have been informed and are currently being supported by police.

"A post mortem examination will take place in due course. However, there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

Douglas had last been seen at around 9pm on Sunday July 10 in the affluent Grange area of Scotland's capital, wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
