Traffic regulations imposed in Kannur for Sunday

The Kannur police have imposed traffic regulations in view of the unprecedented crowd which is expected to arrive on the last day of 23rd Party Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), here on Sunday. Tanker and container lorries from Kasaragod should be parked at Karivellur and those arriving from Kozhikode should halt at Kunhipally between 12 noon and 9 p.m., said a police press release. Similarly, vehicles plying from Kasaragod to Thalassery will be diverted through Pilathara, Taliparamba, Muyyam, Mayyil, and Chalode.  Motorists have to take Pappinesseri Cotton road, Dharmsala, Mayyil and Chalode for travelling between Payangadi and Thalassery.  Motorists from Valapattanam should pass through Alavil, Kannur city, Thottada, Nadal and Edakkad to reach Thalassery.  Police said vehicles from Thalassery towards Kasaragod would be diverted through Koduvalli, Chalode, Sreekandapuram, and Taliparamba. From Edakkad, vehicles would be diverted to Kadanur Kadachira, Mambaram, Chalode, Mayyil, and Taliparamba to go towards Kasaragod.  Those traveling from Koothuparamba will have to take Mattanur and Sreekandapuram road to reach Taliparamba. From Chala junction, vehicles will be diverted to Thekkil Peedika, Kannur City, Chalode, Alavi, Valapattanam, and towards Taliparamba, the release said.
