Traffic diversion in Pune to facilitate Metro works

PUNE: The city traffic branch has announced a diversion in vehicular movement on the Bopodi to Church Road stretch to facilitate MahaMetro works for the Metro rail project.

The diversion will come into effect from Friday. Deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Rahul Shrirame in a statement on Wednesday said, "The stretch between Holkar Bridge and Mula Road was partially used for plying vehicles. Now, light/heavy vehicles passing via the bridge can take right turn and ply in the direction of Khadki cantonment board."

He said, "The stretch between Ayudh Chowk and Arsenal Road will remain open for light vehicles. While heavy vehicles such as buses and trucks can ply via the bridge, the Mula Road and Wakdewadi to their respective destinations."
