Traffic chaos in Whitley Bay after burst water main floods road

Flood Whitley Bay Police Northumbrian Water

A burst water main has caused traffic chaos after flooding a busy street in Whitley Bay on Tuesday morning.

Northumbrian Water have now fixed the leak and the road has been cleared. The A191 Rake Lane has now re-opened in both directions but there is still slow traffic from North Tyneside General Hospital to the junction on the A192 Preston Road North.
