The last Tuesday was a very special day because of its unique date that comes once in a lifetime: 22/2/2022. The date is described as ‘palindrome’ because it can be read the same way forwards or backwards.
Social media users were excited to celebrate this special date, which will not reoccur anytime soon. Many used the word ‘twosday’ to refer to it, as it comprises too many of the number ‘2’, reported the German News Agency.
Although this date has no historic significance, its special combination featuring the number ‘2’ might be seen again in 200 years. However, according to astrology, the number ‘2’ indicates the “union of two persons or ideas, as well as cooperation and social bonding.”
The last time our world witnessed a similar date was on 11 January 2011, or 11/1/11.
The next date with a similar combination is expected in 11 centuries, on March 3, 3033, or 3/3/33.
Many around the world decided to celebrate the uniqueness of this date, which comes once in a lifetime. Many couples even choose to tie the knot on this day.
Among those are a couple from Malaysia, both 27, who returned to their hometown from Singapore where they currently live, to become husband and wife.
According to The New Straits Times, Chan Kai Wei and Chow Ji Khay were among 118 couples who got married at a mass wedding celebration organized by the Ipoh Chinese Chin Woo Athletic Association in a state western Malaysia.
Another bride Lew Khai Chen, 26, said she and her husband Wong Chung Chow, 31, picked the date because the number "2" is considered by many as a symbol of love, apart from being auspicious for the Chinese.
"We met at our workplace and have known each other for 11 years. For this beautiful day, we also booked 2022 vehicle registration plate number for both our vehicles," she said.
