Tourists warned of ‘new normal’ as Europe heatwave hits visitors and locals

A heat dome is hovering over much of Europe this week, as tourists were warned of weather-related issues in holiday destinations.

The dome was over France, Portugal and Spain to Turkey, while data from European forecasters suggested other countries were set to broil further in coming days. New highs are expected on Wednesday before rain is forecast to bring respite to some areas later this week.
