Tourettes Action says it ‘deeply understands’ harm of slur shouted at Baftas

John Davidson who shouted the slur during the ceremony (Ian West/PA) - (PA Wire)

A Tourette syndrome charity has said it “deeply understands” the harm of a racial slur which was shouted during the Bafta Film Awards, but has called for understanding of the condition.

It comes after the BBC apologised for “any offence caused” after a racial slur shouted by Tourette’s campaigner John Davidson during the ceremony was broadcast.
