Tour Down Under has shone despite some hot moments

Mike Turtur is sweating bullets - and not just because of a typical January heatwave that has Adelaide sweltering.

It's days before the the inaugural Tour Down Under in 1999. Turtur, the Olympic gold medallist and long-time track racing promoter, is race director for Australian cycling's great step into the unknown.
