Australian Michael Matthews won the 14th stage of the Tour de France, a 192.5-km hilly ride from Saint-Étienne to Mende on Saturday. Denmark's Jonas Vingegaard maintained the lead over two-time Tour winner Tadej Pogacar of Slovenia.
Italian Alberto Bettiol was second and France's Thibaut Pinot came home third in the stage.
Overall leader Vingegaard tracked the Pogacar's attack all the way to the stage's finish line as the 2020 and 2021 champion tried but failed to put time into his Danish rival.
